The bulk of my internship was in regards to getting Deshaun Thrower signed to a contract. It did not have to be an NBA Contract, any contract which allowed Deshaun to continue playing the sport he loved was good enough. DeShaun was a very accomplished athlete, making it easy to get background information about him. He was Mr. Basketball in the State of Michigan his senior year, he was a Division II basketball national champion, and made the all rookie team in the Canadian Basketball League. Once I had all the information I could go to work but, it would take about 4 hours for me to gather everything about him, talk with Mr. Greene about playing goals and experience. In order to make Deshaun standout we knew we had to make some promotional items. After getting all this information I would start my most challenging task of the internship next, creating the products. Knowing how accomplished Deshaun was and seeing how he had not been given many opportunities currently shows how tough it is to make it as a professional athlete.
