Learning the Way

Probably the single hardest part of this internship was learning how to create marketing materials for an athlete. The only experience I have had in my life designing materials was with a few classes I have taken at Tiffin University. I knew there would be a lot to learn so I spent almost three weeks learning how to make videos, import videos, transfer music and slides. There were a lot of computer programs I had to download in order to complete this process. I had the links to multiple videos throughout Deshaun's career, I just had to figure out how to merge the videos and what to include and delete from the videos. I reached out to a few people in order to decide what length the video should be. The video was vital in marketing the athlete but, I decided to also use canvas and design flyers in order to draw interest to the video. A flyer is a quick way to garner necessary attention to career achievements of a player. The hardest part of this task was definitely becoming familiar with the software necessary to make a video. I think in terms of sports management programs, maybe a course should be added which addresses how to make movies and create digital media marketing.
