Reconnecting with Teams

After the season started, I reached back out to teams to see if there was still any need for players during the season. Since tryouts were over, this would have to be an individual workout with clubs. It was very hard to gauge interest from teams because they were in the middle of the season and bringing players in was a challenge. A lot of clubs said they would be in touch when their tryouts were announced for the following season. Some said they were not allowed to hold tryouts because of COVID. It will be interesting to see which clubs end up reaching out, the G League season is almost over and I think the chances of getting him on a team right now are slim. The important thing to do is build those connections and make it known he is looking for a place to play next year. There is an old adage which states a players window is generally only open for a so long. Although this might be true, as along as the right people believe in Deshaun, he will be given an opportunity. When one signs up to be an agent of a player, it is there responsibility to ensure they are given opportunities. Deshaun has plenty of basketball left to play and is fully vaccinated which means next year he should have the opportunity to play somewhere. Being a free agent athlete right now is very tough, teams are cautious because of their health and current players. As life continues to get back to normal G League teams will be interested and he will be given a chance.
