Working in sports has been a lifelong dream for me. This internship with Darryl Greene gave me insight on how working as an agent really was. Every journey has to start somewhere, and for me that was during the first 5 hours of my internship. Darryl and I spoke about future projects, athletes he’s represented and currently representing, certification processes to become an agent, each other’s background and what the expectations were. These conversations took place over the first week and a half of my internship and was really the culmination moment whereas my education was about to reach real time experience or on the job training. Mr. Greene had a wealth of knowledge and I was really ecstatic to get to work after hearing his background. Not only was Darryl a certified Agent, he also had experience working in the front office of a major sports organization. Both these things were things I had always dreamed of doing, so to get the opportunity to work with someone in the industry was very rewarding. Although we both knew it was going to be challenging because a lot of programs and activities had been shut down to COVID, watching an expert in the field navigate these challenges will help me in the future.
