One of the hardest skills I had to learn was creating marketing material. Thankfully there are a lot of tutorials out there and plenty of sites which help with development. In order to be successful at marketing an athlete there are a few things I would suggest to any agent or individual who works in sports.

  1. Seek out an industry expert.

Thankfully, I had a friend who owns his wedding photography business and he was able to help me decide on what program would work best for me and how to use it. His guidance allowed me to find a starting point and decide on the correct program for my video.

2. Focus on key points of interest

Deshaun had enough stats and information where I was deciding which information in order to not have to stretch information. Sometimes there will be times where a point must be emphasized which might not seem like a big deal, but one never knows what a scout or coach is looking for.

3. Make all marketing materials easy to read or free flowing

I really wanted to ensure the reader did not get too much information that it was overwhelming, but had enough information to feel interested. The flyer I designed was centered around a whole picture approach. Whereas, I highlighted major achievements from high school through his professional career in Canada. A timeline allowed me to show his progression and categorize his achievements at multiple levels.

Do not get overwhelmed and remember this is an important key to bringing interest to one's project. Using these tips will allow to be productive and develop meaningful products.
