Between COVID, teams not allowing as many people into tryouts and income being lost between leagues, there was not an onslaught of opportunities for an athlete to get his foot in the door. Deshaun is a very accomplished and proven athlete and even he is struggling to get his foot in the door. In the sports world, it is all about opportunity and finding someone who thinks you could provide the team a spark or quality minutes. In our case, it is all about pressing the issue and making sure people remember his name, then him producing when given the opportunity. A lot of scouts and front office personnel have been told about Deshaun and the skillset he possesses which means when he goes to the gym for the tryout, they will connect the dots with his skills and the information they have been given about him. I think he will get an opportunity but it will take time. As I continue to talk to scouts and teams, I just want to make sure they understand he is looking for an opportunity and is a very skilled player who could help out.
